From a quiet work encounter in Central Queensland, to a magical proposal under the star-lit skies of Japan, Amanda and Jordan’s journey to ‘forever’ is a love story written with intention, laughter, and classic charm.
Their story began at work, where fate placed them in the same environment but left the first move to timing—and a little help from Facebook. After months of not speaking, Jordan added Amanda online, and soon, conversations sparked, and the start of something more began.
The proposal was straight from a dream.
“We were walking across a bridge in Takayama,” Amanda recalls. “I was complaining that I wanted to explore the historic side of town more before we left the next day, and I turned around and there he was, down on one knee with a ring.” A moment of surprise, but true love for Amanda and Jordan.
Marriage, to Amanda, is a deeply personal promise. “It’s saying, ‘you’re my person, for life.’”
The happy couple chose The Bower Estate for its breathtaking views and sense of secluded wonder.
“We fell in love with the idea of a clear marquee under fairy lights at night,” Amanda says. Their vision came to life in a setting that was simple, elegant, and utterly timeless. The bridal party followed suit with a palette of velvet red for the bridesmaids and light blue suits for the groomsmen, evoking a touch of Old Hollywood glamour.
Amanda’s gown journey was unexpected. After a custom dress made overseas didn’t meet her expectations, she came into When Freddie Met Lilly searching for an alternative. “I didn’t feel beautiful in the first dress,” she admits. “But Vanessa showed me another one—I tried it on, and for the first time, I felt beautiful.”
That moment of transformation was the turning point. “It wasn’t the design I expected, but it was perfect—and even more beautiful on the day.”
The best part of Amanda’s bridal shopping experience? “Spending time with my friends, and Vanessa making me feel so comfortable,” she says. She also included sweet personal touches: her nails bore her and Jordan’s initials, and a special bracelet completed the look.
When it came to Jordan’s suit, Amanda stepped back to let him choose what he truly wanted. “It was important to me that he had that freedom.”
For Amanda, the day’s highlight wasn’t just the vows or the styling—it was getting to wear the dress that made her feel stunning. “I got so many compliments, and when Jordan saw me, he didn’t cry, but he was nervous and said I looked beautiful.” Their ceremony included their beloved dog, another non-negotiable for Amanda, who insists: “The most important thing was having my dog there—and marrying my husband, of course!”
Adding to the intimacy, Amanda’s bouquet was handmade by her maid of honor using flowers from the Rocklea Flower Markets—one more personal touch in a day filled with intentional beauty.
Amanda’s biggest tips? “Book your vendors early—and stand your ground on what you and your partner want. It’s the one day that’s just about you two.”
