It’s formal season yet again and this year has thrown a lot of changes on this years’ high school graduates. From changes to the tertiary ranking system to a global pandemic, this has been a year like no other. However, formal day planning brings optimistic thoughts and gives students and their families, something to look forward to. The last hurrah for the graduating high school seniors of 2020 and a chance for them kick back and reminisce on 12 years of schooling! We asked our formal girl, Lucy, to tell us a little more about how her formal experience was and the process she went through to find her dream formal gown!
We asked Lucy how her experience with her school formal was with COVID-19 and if her formal day and night went smoothly. She shared that, “COVID did make changes to how formal played out. You could only attend with your family and everyone was seated in an outside area. At my school, we have dinner every year with our parents and our partner’s parents. This year it was only with our friends which so much fun! Yes, the morning was great. I had such a good day. I have a big family and they all came over, I had so many people helping me get ready for the day. It was so much fun getting ready with my sisters. The best of formal was waking on the red carpet with my partner in front of my peers, teachers and family. In that moment I felt like a princess.”.

Lucy also shared how her fitting experience with Vanessa went, “With the dress, I knew I wanted it to be fitted, although I had no idea of the style or colour I was going to wear. Vanessa really helped me pick the most perfect outfit that suited my style.”.
