WFML Real Bride Erin – Sneak Peak of our New Collection!
One of our recent brides, Erin, combined a range of elements from different WFML Gowns to design her dream dress with the guidance and assistance of WFML’s Vanessa. We loved Erin’s gown so much, it inspired the Erin Gown from our upcoming Easton Collection which is launching this month! We wanted to hear all about Erin’s big day, and we are sure you will love what she has to say! And didn’t she look just stunning!
So Erin, please tell us – with months (or even years!) of planning, did the Big Day run smoothly?
It did! The day and the whole weekend was more wonderful than we could have imagined. We were gifted with sunshine, love and laughter and to be surrounded by everyone we loved was just magic. I think the only hiccup we had was that our real cheese cake and platters during cocktail hour were so delicious, by the time we had finished taking photos there was none left and I totally missed out! If that’s all we have to complain about then I’m considering us pretty lucky!
Was your wedding themed? Did you and your hubby go for a traditional feel or more contemporary style?
We both have quite a classic taste, and we wanted our day to be a reflection of our true selves and our beautiful surroundings. Chris went for a traditional black tux and I wanted my dress to be something I will look back on in 50 years and still think how timelessly beautiful it was. Our venue Clear Mountain Lodge is a special place to us, not far from our home, perched up on a mountain surrounded by native Australian bushland with views of Lake Samsonvale. We were so lucky that we really didn’t have to do much as it is so naturally stunning, so in keeping with that notion we chose a colour palette of soft greens, blues and ivory for our flowers and decorations. In addition to that we kept everything pretty low key with an emphasis on the things that would make our guests’ night – lots of food, drinks, music and dancing!
How did The Dress fit into your theme? Did you have an idea of which style you wanted before beginning the search for your Bridal Gown? And did this change much after you saw the girls at WFML?
I did have an idea of what I wanted but at the same time I wanted to keep an open mind. The Pip gown was the very first wedding gown I ever tried on. After seeing what was out there, and after weeks of looking, I just couldn’t get the picture out of my mind of the gorgeous cowl back on the Pip gown and knew that I wanted to create a bespoke version of it. I knew it was the right decision when I had both Vanessa and Stephanie going out of their way to cut lace right in front of my eyes and place individual pieces onto me until we brought the vision to life! It was then up to me to choose the fabric; I went with the crepe because I knew it would be super comfortable but look elegant at the same time. Mission accomplished! My gown was such a pleasure to wear and made me feel so special but naturally beautiful at the same time.
Did your man choose his Suit? Or with some guidance did you help him?
He was always set on wearing a black tux and bow tie because he wanted to honour the most important day of his life by wearing something special and formal. He did it all himself! It complimented the gown perfectly and was so nice to see him looking so suave and handsome on the day.
How many dresses did you try on before you knew it was the one? 5? 10? 15+?
Even after trying on probably around 30 dresses I couldn’t get the Pip gown out of my mind!
The girls from WFML were incredibly helpful, so friendly and went above and beyond to bring the vision for my dress to life. I never felt pressured in any appointment and always felt like they let me explore all the options. It was truly a wonderful experience and I am so grateful for their expertise and the time they spent with me to get it just right.
Any tips for our future Brides choosing a gown that makes the day complete?
Keep an open mind, you know you will have found the one when you feel like a million dollars but also like your beautiful true self!
