WFML Real Bride Jean
Jean and Andrew personalised every detail of their gorgeous wedding. Their cat, Taro, was a huge source of inspiration for them. Jean wore our elegant Dakota Gown.The couple’s bespoke wedding sounds absolutely lovely, and we are sure they will have a beautiful future together. Hear from Jean what happened on their big day.
Wit took us about 6 months to plan our wedding. It was a beautiful day with clear blue sky. We could not be happier that our Big day ran smoothly and according to plan. We went with a Cat theme because of how much we adore our own cat, Toro. My Dakota wedding gown fit perfectly into our wedding ceremony which was held in a garden next to the Brisbane River.
I did not have a clear idea of what I wanted for my bridal gown. The girls at WFML could not be more helpful, from helping me with gown fitting to advice on mixing and matching different gown designs that I liked. I tried on 12 dresses before I found my dress. I love my Dakota wedding gown! I received so many compliments from the wedding guests. I fell in love with the Dakota wedding gown the first time I saw it! Vanessa and her team have made the whole gown fitting experience wonderful and she has provided excellent customer service.
To future brides, set a budget and follow your heart! From the very beginning, we tried to make as much things by hand as possible. We decorated the guest tables with mini cat drawings we gathered from our trip to Venice. We have also designed the wine labels for the mini wines we prepared as bonbonnieres for the guests. We have also made the cat place cards, photo props for a DIY photo booth, seating chart and an activity/colouring book for the kids. Last but not least, we also have a personalised cake topper which we worked with the wedding cake maker to look like us and our cat.
The wedding day brought together our friends and families to the same city so they can share in our special moment, it was a heart-warming experience, throughout the day we would often stand back for a moment and soak it all in. We also had a touching best wishes video from the bride’s 88 years old grandmother who could not attend the wedding and a last-minute surprise touching speech given by Andrew’s dad.
