The Day
It is a horrible moment when you are told that your wedding is impacted by instances out of your control. Having someone tell you that a global pandemic and new restrictions surrounding it is going to force you to postpone your big day. Our real bride Georgia and husband Jacob were told by their Priest on the day of their ceremony rehearsal of these restrictions, making the very difficult decision to postpone. Requesting of all of their vendors to change their date, all of them being very understanding and making the change a lot easier. While determined to have the same wedding as originally planned, the constantly changing Covid-19 restrictions did force them to change a few details; the biggest change being the ceremony location which needed to accomodate for everyone, however they had a number of family and friends who were unable to attend.
Georgia shares, “The hardest part leading up to the date was that we had no idea if anything was going to change, an outbreak could happen at any moment and could change everything again. It was hard to be excited and count down the days to the wedding if we had no idea if it was going to happen. We know how lucky we are that we had the most perfect day.” Being determined to get married in the same year as they originally planned, they are very thankful they were able to do this. After everything, they would not change a thing about the day.
The Dress
Visiting a couple of different shops and finding dresses with lots of lace, beading or bling and figuring out quickly that that wasn’t what Georgia was looking for, she then came to WFML. Vanessa assisted her visit, showing Georgia dress that she has liked on Instagram, deciding however, that they didn’t suit her. Vanessa brought out a simple gown with a low back which is the only feature Georgia came in wanting. After trying it on, she was pretty sure it was the one. In Georgia’s words, “I fell in love with the back and the gorgeous long train. The simplicity of the dress with just a little lace, beading and pearls was just perfect.” Wanting to take some time to decide, Georgia went home, but she could not stop thinking about the Erin Gown and went back soon after and ordered it! Georgia shared, “The girls were so lovely and welcoming when I first arrived, and made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process.”
“I felt so comfortable and confident in my dress… As soon as I put it on I knew I had made the right choice and I couldn’t wait to walk down the aisle and marry my best friend.”
The Experience & Advice
Georgia shares, “I had the most wonderful experience with everyone at WFML. Especially when I needed to postpone the wedding they were so accommodating with making new arrangements with fittings to make sure the dress was absolutely perfect. The passion and commitment to all the brides that walk through the door is impeccable and I felt very special. I knew I was going to be very well looked after as soon as I arrived and be supported throughout the whole process of finding my dress.”
Our Real Bride’s advice to future brides, “Choose a gown that you feel comfortable in, you are in it for a long time. But in all seriousness pick a gown that in a way suits your personality, one that you feel comfortable and confident in because that's important on your wedding day to not be fiddling and trying to fix your dress. As the most important thing is marrying your best friend.”
