WFML Real Bride: Milly - Wedding Gown Design

Posted by on

After being proposed to in September 2017, gorgeous Milly married her now-husband Sam on a beautiful day in November 2019. This period, just a little over two years, gave the couple plenty of time to relax and ensure the planning process was done in an organised and well-paced fashion. The lovebirds decided they wished for the wedding to remain simple, with a medium sized guest list of 73 people and lots of homemade and grown decor which is what they had. They both exclaimed at how perfect the big day ended up being - even the weather helped make it picture perfect with the breezy wind flowing through Milly's soft gown and natural hairstyling. Doesn't it sound incredible?!

With no specific theme, the eco-friendly couple wanted to be conscious of the environmental impact. So, they enlisted the help of Milly's talented Mum who is a basket weaver. She was able to make a wishing well and adorable baskets for the flower girls. Milly's Dad was also pretty handy as he beautifully decorated the bridal table and stair railing with handpicked flowers. The list of family and friends that used their talents to bring the big day together was just so precious to read about - Milly's good friend who is a chef whipped up the Croquembouche tower, an old school friend did her hair, a local MU artist that uses cruelty free products did a sensational job, her brother laughed the night away in the MC role, the Mother-In-Law kept the bridal party well fed during the preparations, friends photographed the wedding and the list goes on. Milly reflected on how it all came together and said; "It all came together so organically now that I think about it and it was a real community and family ran event. I am very grateful and feel blessed to have had such a beautiful wedding day." After not knowing what style of wedding dress she was after, Milly had tried on every single dress imaginable (15+)  before she found "the one". As soon as she tried on a WFML dress, she just knew she had to have it. "The WFML dress I chose felt traditional but also very unique with the top layer of tulle being a peachy colour. I wanted white but a little different. I loved the low V back and the plunging neck line too. I felt beautiful." Husband Sam chose his own suit and it complemented Milly's gown perfectly. It wasn't too fancy but rather? Just right. We asked Milly about her experience bridal shopping with us at WFML and mentioned how beautiful the design was to wear - comfortable, soft to the touch and most importantly, it made her feel special. If you are in the midst of wedding dress shopping, Milly's advice is to always go for comfort and choose something that you feel beautiful in. All in all, Milly and Sam's big day was one of the best they've ever had - the feeling of having all your loved ones in a room celebrating their commitment to one another is such an incredible thing. "I will never forget this day and what made it even more special was having my perfect dress and beautiful photos in my dress to look back on and remember what a romantic day it was." Congratulations you two! It looked like the most perfect day for a lovely couple.
