From the moment Rhiannon and David crossed paths, their love story was destined to be one filled with laughter, resilience, and timeless romance. Their wedding at stunning Noosa Heads was not just a celebration of love, it was a tribute to everything they’ve built together: family, strength, and an unbreakable bond that’s only deepened through life’s most beautiful and challenging seasons.

Nearly twenty years ago, fate first brought Rhiannon and David together at a local uni pub in Toowong; the RE. Rhiannon was working behind the bar when David introduced himself as a friend of a friend. Over the years, they’d cross paths at events and social outings, always with that unspoken connection. It wasn’t until 2014 that their story truly began, a Tinder coincidence, a cheeky message, and a dinner back at the very place where it all started. Their first date flowed effortlessly into the next evening, filled with conversation, sweet potato fries, and espresso martinis and from that moment on, they’ve been inseparable.
Rhiannon laughs as she recalls her perfectly imperfect proposal, “I was eight months pregnant, eating a sandwich, and checking our baby budget when David came bursting through the door.” He had just picked up her engagement ring and couldn’t wait another second. Kneeling beside her, he began sharing all the reasons he loved her and the life they’d built together. “I dropped my sandwich and shut the laptop,” she says, smiling. “It was so spontaneous, so us and absolutely perfect.”
After ten wonderful years together, Rhiannon and David decided it was time to celebrate everything they’d created, their home, their family, and their unwavering love. “Marriage for us was about celebrating all that we’ve been through, all that we have, and all that we are,” Rhiannon shares.

Choosing Noosa was an easy decision. This coastal haven held deep meaning for them, a place that brought calm and healing during one of the most challenging times of their lives. Following Rhiannon’s first week of chemotherapy years earlier, the pair had taken an impromptu road trip that led them to the Noosa Boathouse, where they shared a peaceful evening by the river. It became their special place, one filled with love, strength, and serenity.
On their wedding day, they exchanged vows at Maison La Plage, followed by a sunset cruise on the Noosa River, and an elegant reception at the Boathouse. “It was such a beautiful full-circle moment,” Rhiannon says.
Surrounded by their nearest and dearest, the day was made even more special by the presence of their two children, Mack and Lily. “Having our babies there with us meant the world,” Rhiannon says. “Our youngest arrived just four months before the wedding and celebrating with both our kids by our side was incredibly special.”

Rhiannon discovered When Freddie Met Lilly through Instagram and it was love at first sight. “The moment I saw the Houston gown, I knew she was the one,” she says. “I adored the romantic design, the sparkly glam vibe, and the soft milky tones. I didn’t even bother trying anywhere else because Vanessa’s designs spoke straight to my heart.”
With custom adjustments and Vanessa’s expert guidance, the gown came to life perfectly. “The experience was everything; personal, seamless, and so much fun,” Rhiannon shares. “They even made a matching skirt for our baby girl, Lily, using the same fabric as my gown. Seeing us together that day was such a precious moment.”
“Working with Vanessa and the team was such a privilege,” Rhiannon shares. “Every part of the experience was filled with kindness, care, and joy. It was everything a bride could dream of; fun, exciting, and a little bit fancy.”

The couple chose a soft, romantic palette of blush, rose, and gold for the bridal party, paired beautifully with the classic navy suits of the groomsmen. Their florals were timeless and lush; delicate roses in white, cream, and soft pink, finished with pearl pins and gentle greenery. Every detail, from the bud vases lining the tables to the candlelit glow of the Boathouse, reflected their understated elegance.

There were countless highlights, heartfelt vows, a prosecco tower, and a lively river cruise surprise for guests, but one moment stands still in Rhiannon’s heart. “Our little break on the rooftop bar, just the two of us, looking at the stars while everyone danced below. It was pure magic.”
And perhaps the most touching moment of all, as Rhiannon reached the end of the aisle, their son Mack proudly called out, “Mummy, you’re gorgeous!” David, beaming with pride and teary-eyed, echoed the same words moments later.

From the whole When Freddie Met Lilly team, we wish Rhiannon and David an endless journey of happiness and love as they start this new and exciting chapter in life!
