With a love for project management and mad Excel skills, there is no surprise the lovely Liana was able to plan and pull off her dream wedding in 5 short months. The couple had a few concerns about a rainy forecast and their planned outdoor ceremony and reception, however, the skies remained closed for the entire duration! Woohoo!
The couple had a seriously cool theme focused on colour, sparkles and whimsical fun! To add to the creativity of their big day, they decided to choose their witnesses with a raffle drawn by her and her husband in front of their wedding guests right after saying "I do". There was a glitter bar for the guests so they could dress themselves in sparkles, an amazing grazing table, woodfired pizzas, doughnuts AND gelato - YUM!! They held the ceremony in a giant double tipi that was covered in loads of colour and seperated into seperate areas to suit the guests - a nice lounging area for the quieter friends and a big party zone for those wanting to dance the night away with the live band. Liana knew that she wasn't after a traditional white or ivory coloured dress as she has a very bright personality. A few trials at another bridal store definitely cemented that idea in her head. This is where we came into play! Liana's lovely sister had visited us previously during her own wedding gown search and recommended that Liana pop in. And aren't we glad she did! It was so much fun mixing and matching our current designs with Liana's colourful vision to create the gorgeous bespoke wedding gown that you see at their big day. Liana's now-husband Matt, came to us for all his suiting needs and we were so excited to hook him up with a custom number. They booked a double appointment which meant they could design the suit together and then Matt could scoot off during the gown-designing portion of the day. We love doing both the suit and gown as it allows our designer Vanessa to suggest colours, textures and fabrics that work beautifully together. Our hearts were full and we knew it was a job well done when Liana mentioned that she felt like a sparkly fairy during her big day. She said it was also super comfortable and was so fun to twirl on the dance floor in. The sad part being she could only wear it for one day!
When asking how helpful our WFML team were during the process Liana very kindly said this: "Vanessa and all the girls from WFML were beyond amazing. Everyone at WFML is so passionate about what they do, but what I found most refreshing was how down to earth and honest they were. When something wasn't particularly flattering, they told me (in as nice a way as possible). I didn't feel like they were trying to sell me something, but instead felt like they were on a journey with me to find the perfect wedding dress. It was such a wonderful stress free process to go through especially since I needed a dress in less than 6 months."
Liana's advice for those brides looking for a dress to make their big day complete?
- Don't take too many people with you to your appointment, just the ones who you trust to give honest feedback.
- Try different styles even if you don't think it will suit you.
- Have FUN! It's not just about the dress, it is about marrying the person you love.
