Hayley's WFML Real Wedding - Brisbane Wedding Gown Design

Posted by on

Beautiful Hayley chose to only have three short months to plan her wedding as she likes to work around deadlines, over infinite periods of time where one can rethink options over and over again. Considering the minimal planning time, the big day ran perfectly. Their ultimate goal was to become husband and wife in a relaxed environment surrounded by those closest to them and that is what they did in a gorgeous outdoor setting. There were only a one stressful consideration the couple faced and it didn't actually involve them directly. Right in the middle of the wedding planning, Hayley's thirteen year old niece was receiving chemotherapy to treat bone cancer. The unexpectedness of this helped ground their perspective and what was truly important to them and what is not. Their stunning big day was held at Lennox Head in Northern NSW followed by a cocktail style reception at Shelter, a beachside restaurant. Traditional sentiments such as speeches, cake cutting and a first dance were included in their contemporary and casual day. It sounds simply perfect!

When starting her bridal shopping, Hayley had no expectation for her big day and ended up at WFML after seeing Vanessa's designer wedding gowns on one of her friends. After 1.5 hours with us, Hayley had a wedding dress design - it was a bespoke piece that made her feel comfortable and look elegant. Being only three months post-partum as well, the design process was important to Hayley and her new curves. Hayley's husband Kent had his heart set on a linen suit and jacket and ended up wearing a handsome beige colour with a white top. It was the perfect texture match for their wedding theme and Hayley's gown. We were honoured to help him bring that dream to life.

When we asked Hayley about her experience at WFML she very kindly wrote this; " I went into my first dress appointment and announced I had only three months. I was treated with the same attention and understanding as a bride who might have a year to plan. From what I understand about the industry, many people would simply turn you away with such a time frame but I was made to feel my business was welcome and treated with nothing but care. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and I know the boys did too (particularly when they were able to enjoy a beer during their fitting)." Finally, Hayley's recommendation for brides looking for their dream gown is to have an open mind and be willing to try different options.

Congratulations Hayley and Kent - it looked like the most perfect day for you both.
