So please tell us - with months (or even years!) of planning, did the Big Day run smoothly?
We consciously chose a very relaxed elopement to Spicers Peak Lodge, Maryvale, with two witnesses, so planning was relatively simple and straightforward, taking only a couple of months.
Did you have an idea of which style you wanted before beginning the search for your Bridal Gown?
Nothing too fussy and definitely no white fluff dress! I wanted something slightly formal, a colour preferably, and some lace. I liked the idea of a simple-figure hugging dressing. The girls at WFML put me in a style which worked perfectly with my shape and suited our outdoor photographs and relaxed country-style wedding! I loved the feel of the dress. I had previously tried several ready-made dresses on from several shops, however , quickly came to the conclusion that I needed to have a dress specifically made for me. Many were too fussy or simply did not fit properly and felt over the top for the relaxed, intimate wedding, we had planned.
Any tips for our future Brides choosing a gown that makes the day complete?
- Find yourself a man as wonderful as my husband, but good luck ladies finding one like Glenn... he's one of a kind!
- Simply put yourself first. Do what feels right for you, don't dress to suit anyone else but yourself.
- Avoid the drama of a big wedding and elope to somewhere that's meaningful to you both. Apply the KISSSS principle - Keep it small, simple, stylish and sweet!
