It’s no secret that 2020 has been a turbulent year in the best of circumstances. Between border closures, venue limits and ever-changing restrictions, wedding planning during COVID-19 is far from a smooth process for any bride.Hannah is the perfect example of what it means to make lemonade from lemons, arranging a complete overhaul of her original plans for her big day. Initially set on a large venue to host all of her nearest and dearest, she had to downsize to an intimate ceremony in the front yard. “We went through the rollercoaster of watching the number of guests allowed at weddings drop quickly to 5, then a couple of weeks before the wedding increase to 10 meaning we could have our parents and bridal party; then it increased again to 20 the Monday before we got married.” Despite her plans being turned upside down, nothing could stop Hannah and Ricky from tying the knot. “The day was everything we wanted and the intimate ceremony and reception meant we were able to spend quality time on our wedding day with our loved ones,” she said.
THE DRESS
Hannah decided she wanted her dress to be her ‘something blue’, looking online for inspiration. After attending the WFML studio, she found her dream dress featuring a white bodice and a blue skirt, with rose gold detailing to match her engagement ring. Hannah stressed the importance of finding a dress that makes you happy, no matter how different your choice may be. “Even though it seems like it is easier to purchase a dress off the rack, if you have a unique dream dress in mind nothing beats having a chat to local designers who can make magic happen!” We are so grateful we could be a part of Hannah’s day!
