WFML Real Bride: Sharni
Our real bride Sharni had a lot of trouble finding the wedding gown she wanted elsewhere. But finally at WFML she found her dream dress. Read below how she planned her wedding and how the big day went.
We planned our wedding in 9 months and we made sure it was stress free. If there was anything that became stressful it was out.We promised at the start of our wedding planning that it was just one day and that the marriage was what mattered. I think this helped stay grounded but always meant we didn’t worry about things that went “wrong” on the day. We were having so much fun and were so incredibly lucky to have a venue and vendors that went above and beyond to fix any issues without us even knowing.
We chose whatever we liked and it all seamlessly fit together. We tried to focus on elements that meant the most to us: doilies from his nan (almost 30 metres of them), family style seating and lots of fairy lights. We ended up using a dictionary for our guest book and library cards for place cards which reflected who we are (English teacher & a writer).
The dress was perfect! I knew that I wanted sleeves and the flowing skirt. The bodice caught me by surprise. I thought I would have picked a lace but the sparkles were beautiful and gave it an edge. I had so much trouble finding anything in this style elsewhere and the girls at WFML made it all happen – nothing was too much. I had tried on at least 10-15 dresses. I was pretty deflated by the time I reached WFML and wasn’t sure I would find what I was looking for. I remember trying on more dresses after finding “the one” because they were all so beautiful and it was such a fun experience. The gown made me feel like myself. It felt natural and suited how I walked, danced and twirled. I didn’t ever feel like it was in the way. I loved the extra bling on the bodice and how it sparkled when the light hit it. It felt very romantic and whimsical. Choose a dress that suits who you are and what you like. Have an idea of what you want but be ready for the girls at WFML to show you some other options. Their dresses are amazing and you might surprise yourself.
There is nothing more that the girls at WFML could have done. At all. They were absolutely incredible. There were things that didn’t go to plan and they worked hard to make sure I had the perfect dress on the day. From emailing me back and speaking to my fiancé about how I was having nightmares and needed some reassurance to contacting me after the day to make sure everything had gone to plan. Everything felt personal and I felt comfortable during the whole process.
