WFML REAL BRIDE: RACHAEL

WFML REAL BRIDE: RACHAEL

"WFML were unique in that they allowed you flexibility to mix and match your fave bits - this top with that bottom etc. I wouldn't have achieved 'THE' dress without their level of service and creativity." Read on to hear more fantastic advice from WFML real bride Rachael.
So please tell us Rachael - with months (or even years!) of planning, did the Big Day run smoothly? It went beyond expectation with a lot of help from family and awesome vendors! There was a lot of planning (about 10 months) all the way up until the big day but my spreadsheet was so embarrassingly detailed everyone knew what needed to be done!! I was kicking back with champagne on the morning without a worry. My wonderful brother-in-law and Father did a loop around Brisbane twice just that morning - running around with flowers, lawn games, backup dresses, the lot!

Was your wedding themed? Did you and your hubby go for a traditional feel or more contemporary style?
I would say traditional styles with contemporary details. Beyond that our theme was Burgundy dresses for the Bride's team (2 girls + 1 guy), and Navy for the Groomsman's party (2 guys + 1 girl). The colouring helped differentiate who was on which side - a very unique bridal party! As for my wedding gown, Hubby always wanted me to wear a traditional A-line style dress, in-line with our theme. However, he left the rest up to me! I wanted lace because when else do you wear white lace! Surprisingly, a chunkier more graphic style of lace caught my eye - it was modern but beautiful, and made me feel like I was wrapped in florals. The tulle of the skirt floated across every floor. Being a bit of a tomboy, it was a delight being a complete princess for a day.
My husband always wanted a traditional three piece suit. His choice of a grey tweed vest with tan shoes definitely made him pop out from the Groomsmen.

How did your gown make you feel on your very Special Day?
I felt the most feminine I have ever felt! It was structured so well that I didn't need to worry about shape-wear or anything coming off or coming apart! I tried on about a dozen dresses (the "one" being about the 10th) and I kept coming back to it. WFML were unique in that they allowed you flexibility to mix and match your fave bits - this top with that bottom etc. I wouldn't have achieved 'THE' dress without their level of service and creativity. The girls at WFML provided me with a personal and prompt service from my first interaction. And zero pressure, which was a relief during the whole planning process!
Any tips for our future Brides choosing a gown that makes the day complete? Have fun, don't leave it too late, and stick to your original vision but be open to minor variations/improvements. Bring your Pinterest with you to help the dressmaker understand your vision!
