WFML Real Couple: Kia & Lachy

Posted by on

By approaching their wedding with a ‘whatever happens, happens’ attitude, Kia & Lachy were able to have the absolute best day together with their friends and family! To hear more about their incredible big day, carry on reading below!

With no specific theme, this beautiful couple started the day down at the beach for a simple and short ceremony. Following this, Kia & Lachy hired football fields for the reception and decorated them with large Tipi's in a boho style with lots of rugs, ottomans, wine barrels etc. It was the perfect location for the newlyweds to celebrate with 150 of their nearest and dearest! There were food trucks, live music, a kombi photo-booth and an open bar. How perfect does this sound??! Before the wedding planning began, Kia had no idea what her dress would look like but she did know that it needed to be comfortable, affordable and most importantly, she needed to feel confident in it. After trying on 10+ dresses before her appointment at WFML, Kia couldn't find exactly what she was after. However, after one appointment with us, her dream 2-piece gown was coming together.

"The WFML team made it a truly amazing and easy process from the minute my Mum and I walked in the door. Charlotte listened to exactly what I was after and discussed all sorts of options and ideas with me to make sure I was getting the dress I had pictured in my mind but was struggling to picture in real life."

After such a simple experience with us, lovely Kia recommended that her husband-to-be at the time, Lachy, come in and allow us to fit his suit. So that is what he did! "Vanessa spent the time to listen to what Lach was after and helped us to personalise the suit to something Lachy and I both loved, and we couldn’t wait to see the final result after the first appointment. The suit complimented my two piece and the ‘feel’ of the day perfectly and the boys looked unreal."

When reflecting on their wedding day, Kia mentioned that she felt "gorgeous & sexy" and was told "over and over again that the dress was ‘me’ all over. I wore it from 2pm through to 2am and didn’t have to spend a second worrying about it. I danced all night, sat on cushions on the ground, climbed into the kombi photobooth and ate all the yummy food with not a worry in the world."

The lovely Kia shared some great advice for all those future brides out there in the midst of finding their dream gown:

    • Go with a dress that makes you feel like ‘you’.
    • Don’t let anyone else sway your decision, listen to suggestions but stay true to your heart.
