It’s not an uncommon notion that the best foundation for a relationship to grow, flourish, and succeed, is one often founded in deep-rooted friendships, that have stood the test of time. For Nalini and Andrew, this couldn’t be more true.
Having just moved from the United States to Australia, Nalini was eager on making friends, forging connections, and solidifying her new life in Australia. In doing so, Nalini attended a friend’s party, where she spied her Andrew from across the room. Here, at this party, Nalini and Andrew would meet, and embark on a decade long friendship, which later, would turn into an undeniable romance.
Over the years, their bond, which was built on laughter, trust, and unwavering support, deepened, and lead to Nalini and Andrew seeing each other in a new light.
One unforgettable evening spent at an R&B concert saw sparks beginning to fly, hearts starting to race, and Nalini and Andrew realising that their connection was destined for something more.
Fast forward 10 years, Andrew is envisioning a dreamy proposal under Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge. Here, he would propose to the love of his life, illuminated by bright city lights. However, unfortunately for Andrew, life and its unpredictable ways had other plans in stall for the soon to be fiancée. Unbeknownst to both Nalini and Andrew, a COVID outbreak in Nalini’s office would ensue, leading to Andrew’s once fool proof proposal plans having to change, due to Nalini’s impending isolation. Despite this, Andrew remained undeterred, and transformed their home into a fairy light and candle lit heaven, setting the scene for a proposal nothing short of perfection.
To Nalini, “marriage is a partnership based on solid friendship, and is about being there for one another through life’s ups and downs.”
With this in mind, the happy couple infused their wedding day with many small, yet meaningful touches, that ranged from Nalini having “Andy” written on the bottom of her shoe, as a nod to the couples beloved movie Toy Story, and their ring box being engraved with Mickey and Minnie Mouse, surrounded by the words, “When I Look at You, I am Home.”
Paying homage to Andrews initial proposal plans, the couple even featured the Story Bridge on their wedding book. To say that their wedding was filled with personal touches would be an understatement!
Their wedding, which took place in Brisbane’s Smoked Garage, immediately caught the happy couple’s attention, and they were instantly captivated by its rich character and glimmering fairy lights. For Nalini, it felt as if she was stepping into a fairytale, and one that she knew she wanted to spend her special day in.
Much like Nalini and Andrew’s incredible love story, Nalini’s wedding dress also told a story. Opting for a custom-made dress, Nalini’s dress saw elements of her personal journey woven into its very fabric. Featuring symbols that held deep meaning to the bride, Mickey Mouse, California poppies, eucalyptus leaves, lotus flowers, New Zealand Silver ferns, and motifs from her childhood could be seen woven throughout her gown.
Whilst Nalini’s wedding gown was one of utmost importance, her reception dress was no exception. Opting for her very own When Freddie Met Lilly Issy Gown, Nalini spent the night dancing away in her sequin adorned dress, surrounded by the ones she loves the most.
From heartfelt speeches, to spending the night twirling under twinkling lights, every moment from Nalini and Andrews wedding day was unforgettable.
For Nalini and Andrew, their special day wasn’t just about the wedding itself, but the journey that led them there – one that once started with friendship, and deepened with love, was now sealed in a lifetime of laughter and devotion.
As Nalini and Andrew walked hand in hand into their happily ever after, one thing was for certain – their love story was only just beginning, and the best was yet to come.
