Beautiful Beth had an incredible big day out at Eco Studio Fellini! It really couldn't have been more perfect for the happy couple!
So please tell us - with months (or even years!) of planning, did the Big Day run smoothly?
We spent 12 months planning the day and it went so quickly! Our day was smooth from start to finish and I think it was because we made sure that the planning wasn’t stressful. We had an incredible MC who sorted out all then behind the scenes issues.
Was your wedding themed? Did you and your hubby go for a traditional feel or more contemporary style?
Our wedding wasn’t too formal and I liked the ‘rustic’ feel with lots of greenery and fairy lights. We found a gorgeous venue that fit our ideas perfectly. We didn’t have a particular colour scheme, but at the same time tried to tie all the elements in together.
How did The Dress fit into your theme? Did you have an idea of which style you wanted before beginning the search for your Bridal Gown? And did this change much after you saw the girls at WFML?
My dress fit in with our style perfectly. The lace fit with our garden ceremony and the split took away the formality. I had the front neckline edged in lace, while the back was edged in beading. I called it pretty at the front and party at the back. I knew I wanted a fitted gown and liked off the shoulder styles with a sweetheart neckline. I also didn’t want a train. However, after Vanessa helped me try on a few different styles, including dresses that had what I wanted, I found the Valentina dress. I loved it, especially after Vanessa helped my put my own spin on it. I loved the train as well!
Did your man choose his Suit? Or with some guidance did you help him? Did his suit compliment your gown? (or was it the other way around?).
My husband chose his own suit and I didn’t see it until I walked down the aisle. He has good taste in suits, so I wasn’t too worried. All I knew was that he wasn’t wearing a tie. He looked so handsome with his black suit and vest.
How many dresses did you try on before you knew it was the one? 5? 10? 15+?
I only tried on a handful of dresses before finding my dress. I think I took it off, tried another couple, but came back to it again.
How did your gown make you feel on your very Special Day?
My gown made me feel confident and as soon as I put it on, I felt ready to take on the day! I felt like it was perfectly ‘me’, if that makes sense.
Were the girls from When Freddie met Lilly helpful in what can be quite a busy and time consuming process when find The Dress?
Vanessa was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Even when she was run off her feet, she had time to make sure everything was just right. She made sure that I had time to finish my tea, even when there were other customers. I enjoyed each visit, even after driving from the Gold Coast for early Saturday morning fittings!
Any tips for our future Brides choosing a gown that makes the day complete?
I suggest choosing a dress that makes you feel like you. Listen to your bridal party/family but more importantly listen to yourself. Also, the girls from WFML are phenomenal and have excellent ideas. They will point you in the right direction with their expertise. Finally, don’t be afraid to speak up. If there is something you don’t like or a detail you want to add, just ask. Don’t wait till Your Day and wish you had have said something.
