WFML REAL BRIDE: BROOKE

WFML REAL BRIDE: BROOKE

Posted by Vanessa Ford on

Marriage to Brooke means love, trust and honesty. It's being able to spend the rest of your life with the person you love. Though this definition changes from person to person, the idea of spending the rest of your life with your true love, usually stays the same.

Russell and Brooke met almost 10 years ago through Brooke’s sister Manda and Russ’s friend Brent. Sparks flew and has led to a lifetime of happiness for the couple. Russell proposed to me at home at night while we were enjoying a nice night at home together.

The sentiment of being alone, in a comfortable space doing something they both love is the culmination of a perfect pair.

The couple decided to get married at Brooke’s grandparents farm. “It meant alot to our family that we chose to get married there. We feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to have tied the knot there surrounded by both our families”. Though there were a few loved ones who weren’t able to attend, they were with the couple in spirit.

As for her gown, Brooke’s dress hunting experience got off to a rocky start. “I specifically wanted a dress that had a sleeve and adored a long lace look. I went to one bridal store and the lady was not very helpful. It really put a damper on the experience and took a bit of the fun out of the day. But then, my mum and I found ourselves at When Freddie Met Lilly and my experience could not have been better! Vanessa was so welcoming. She went above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for and took the time to make the dresses I like look different in how they could be altered. She even added bits of different laces and fabrics to show me different sleeve styles. She is such an amazing lady and she made my experience one I will never forget”.

As for Russell, “I had no idea what he was wearing. I let him decide what he wanted to wear as both of us wanted a surprise. I didn’t want him to feel pressured, so he could make his own decision. He even surprised me on the day by wearing our initials on his cuff links”.

All in all, the most important thing for me on the day was “to look and feel beautiful. But we also wanted everyone to have just as good a time as us”.

For my final words about our big day, my advice to other brides is to “make sure you look for your dress in advance and MAKE SURE you go to When Freddie Met Lilly. You won’t be disappointed”.

We could not be happier for Brooke and Russell and we wish them every happiness!
