WFML REAL BRIDE: JODY

Posted by on

Jody and Steven were tempted to postpone their wedding for the second time, but decided that the last few years have shown them how unpredictable the world is and decided to go ahead as planned.

After their original day had to be postponed due to Covid restrictions, for attempt number 2 they went with the exact same plan as the first. However, one year on, the couple had the same issue of restrictions and their guest list had to be reduced. Only Stevens parents’ were able to attend and we didn’t have any other family there, unfortunately.

I had big hopes in the lead up that the borders would open and was so disappointed when it didn’t happen. We were extremely lucky that our videographer was able to live stream the ceremony and we got to have a chat to all of our family and friends who couldn’t make it.

Despite everything, the day was so perfect. The venue was amazing and all the vendors went above and beyond to make everything happen! There is not one thing I would have changed.

As for my gown, I had a dress I had purchased in 2019 but in between then and the new date, I had a surprise pregnancy and just couldn’t shake the feeling it was the wrong dress. About 6 weeks before the wedding, I emailed Vanessa at When Freddie Met Lilly asking whether a dress could be made in that time frame. Vanessa was so lovely and booked me an appointment straight away.

I tried on a lot of dresses but nothing ever really had the WOW factor I was looking for, until that day at WFML when I found the Donna Skirt and Dania bodice. It was a style I had loved for as long as I can remember. I ordered it that day and a few weeks later asked if I could add sleeves. Vanessa was amazing and got it all sorted for me! I can’t even begin to show my gratitude for how amazing the girls at the studio were. I gave them a tough job and they made it happen. Nothing was too difficult at all!

The dress made me feel amazing. It was so comfortable, I wasn’t worried about not being able to eat or sit down. It also had pockets which I was so in love with!

                    .

I feel like we searched longer for a suit than the dress dilemma! We had no idea and were initially looking for a silver sage suit. We ended up going with a sand colour. It was light and complimented the dress perfectly.

Find something that you feel comfortable in - it’s one massive day and you want to be able to move freely and not be worried about what you can and can’t do in the dress!

The couple looked absolutely stunning on their perfect day! We are so grateful to have been a part of it!
