Even with torrential rainfall, Rachel and Ollie tied the knot and had the perfect day, however, for them, it wasn’t going to be the day they dreamed of without family and friends from abroad. With Covid restrictions lifted just before their ‘I Do Day’, the couple were blessed to be surrounded by so many of their loved ones and even the rain couldn’t bring their mood down.
The two were engaged in the midst of covid in 2020. They had already seen good friends postpone their weddings and chose a date in May 2022 hoping they made the right decision. “Being the type of bride I was, we sent out save the dates 1.5 years in advance to allow our guests time to plan around.”
“On the day, our ceremony location was meant to be outside, however, we knew that our venue had a fabulous covered deck as a wet weather option which we ended up utilising for the ceremony. To all our guests, they were none the wiser on the change of location.”
“As for my gown, When Freddie Met Lilly was the first store I tried on dresses from the recommendation from my sister in law. I LOVED almost every dress I tried on, but went to a few other stores afterwards just to make sure. My dress was actually the 3rd dress I tried on, however I tried on another 30 just to make sure. Almost every dress I tried on had something that I wanted to slightly change and I LOVED that I was able to use the bespoke service at WFML.
My dress ended up being a bespoke gown with fabric buttons added to the full length of the train, the train lengthened and the overall shape and depth of the gown deepened. Working with the entire studio team I was able to get my PERFECT dress. The girls were absolutely amazing! They listened to what I was liking in dresses and had me in and out of inside out and back to front dresses to help picture other options or alterations I may want to the dresses”.
“On the day I felt like an absolute princess, the dress was exactly me, refined and sleek and I had no end of compliments on how well it fit. Plus, my partner had sole creative control over his suit and came up with the velvet forest green tux jacket. It complimented my dress and the whole feel of our day and was just the perfect addition.”
“My advice to other brides is to have an idea of what you want. It really helps. However, focusing on how you feel in the gown should be your number 1 goal. I found that the more I tried on, the more I was able to articulate what elements I liked or didn't like about the gowns and my body shape.”
Rachel looked absolutely gorgeous on the day and Ollie’s suit complimented her gown to perfection. We were so excited to be included in their magical day and to create a totally unique gown for Rachel and her needs! Congratulations to the Happy Couple!
