From their sweet proposal story to the meaningful touches that made their day unforgettable, here's a look into Katie and Mikaela's beautiful wedding journey.
How They Met: A Modern Love Story
Katie and Mikaela’s journey began in a way that might seem familiar to many modern couples — on Tinder. "We met on Tinder and after talking for about a week, we decided to meet in person. From that first date, we basically didn’t leave each other's side,". Their connection was instant, and it didn't take long for them to realise… they were meant to be together.
A Proposal to Remember
When it came time for Mikaela to propose, she chose a quiet and intimate moment that was true to their relationship. "Mikaela found the perfect time when it was just the two of us, in the comfort of our own home. We were having a deep, loving conversation when she asked me to marry her,". It was a proposal that reflected the deep emotional connection they shared—no grand gestures, just a quiet moment of love.
What Marriage Means to Them
For Katie and Mikaela, marriage isn’t just about a wedding day—it’s about a lifetime of partnership. "Marriage means unconditional love, It’s about working through problems with love and never considering giving up on each other. It’s about prioritising one another, no matter what." Their vows were a promise to continue growing together, supporting each other through all of life’s ups and downs.
Choosing the Perfect Venue
With the idea of a stress-free day in mind, Katie and Mikaela decided on a venue that allowed them to focus on the most important part of the day—their love and commitment to one another. "We wanted the day to come with as little stress as possible,". "The registry office was perfect for us because it was already beautifully set up. We didn’t have to worry about how things would look—it was all taken care of." It was the perfect backdrop for their low-key, meaningful ceremony.
Family and Special Touches
Family played a central role in their celebration. "Both of our families were able to be there, and it meant the world to us,". Their two young children were especially special participants as flower girls, wearing beautiful, flowery fairy dresses that fit perfectly with the pastel tones of their wedding. "We made sure they felt as beautiful and important as we did,".
A major highlight was how Katie and Mikaela designed their day to focus on connection and joy. "We stayed together the whole day leading up to the ceremony. We spent the morning with our family, singing and dancing, it created such a fun, happy vibe, and when it was time for the ceremony, we both felt so at ease."
Finding the Dream Gowns
When it came to finding the perfect outfits, Katie and Mikaela's bridal shopping experience was nothing short of magical. "It was like magic," Katie says, describing her own gown. "The moment I put it on, I didn’t look back. It’s strange seeing yourself in a wedding dress, but once you find the right one, you can’t imagine yourself in anything else."
Mikaela, who was also careful to choose something that felt just right for her, had Katie’s full support in choosing her wedding attire. "I was there to encourage Mikaela and let her know she was making the right choices," Katie says. "It was ultimately her decision, but I was there for every moment."
The couple credits their incredible bridal shopping experience to their consultant, Vanessa. "Vanessa was an angel," Katie says. "She understood everything we wanted, even when we couldn’t find the right words. She made the experience unforgettable."
A Day of Comfort and Connection
The most important thing for Katie and Mikaela on their wedding day was that they both felt at ease. "Our wedding was designed in a way that allowed us to stay connected the whole day. We didn’t want to be stressed or anxious—we wanted it to be comfortable, and that’s exactly how it was."
Even the small touches had meaning. Mikaela’s suit, for example, had the couple's initials and their wedding date embroidered inside—an intimate detail that made the day feel even more personal.
Walking Down the Aisle: An Emotional Moment
The moment Katie walked down the aisle to meet Mikaela was, without question, the highlight of their day. "It was the highlight of my life," Katie says. "We were both filled with so much joy. You could see it on both of our faces. It was so overwhelming and beautiful."
When Mikaela saw Katie in her wedding gown, her reaction was pure emotion. "She kept accidentally swearing at the altar! She said, 'You look so f***** beautiful' a million times. She was crying and still looked gorgeous doing it. It was one of those moments I’ll never forget."

Looking back on their journey, Katie shares some advice for future brides: "Follow your instincts. Don’t stress too much about how everything will look or how it will all come together. Focus on connecting with your partner, because when the love is there, it will be felt by everyone—and that’s what makes the day truly special."
