COVID-19 restrictions caused Sarah and Brett to postponed their wedding for a year. Sarah telling us,
"We were supposed to get married in April 2020 and postponed to April 2021. It was 4 days before our wedding day when Greater Brisbane went into lockdown. We made the decision to stick to our date and we would be married even if it was just the 2 of us and witnesses. The lockdown lifted at 1pm on our wedding day and all of our guests were able to come and our wedding went as originally planned. We still can’t believe how well everything worked out. All of our guests were able to celebrate with us in person. Still pinch ourselves that we were able to do that."
The Big Day
Despite a little rain Sarah and Brett's big day ran smoothly.
Sarah stating, "It did rain just before our ceremony and we had it planned outdoors. I was ready to walk down the aisle and it started showering, dad turned around to me and said you waited a year you can wait another 5 minutes for this to pass. And that’s what we did and we had a stunning backdrop to our ceremony."
The Dress and The Suit
Sarah told us how she felt on her big day, "Beautiful! A big part of my brief for the dress was to be comfortable and easy to wear and I was able to sit down comfortably and chat to all of our guests and dance the night away."
Sarah also telling us about how Brett found his perfect suit, "We knew Brett wouldn’t wear a traditional full suit and he loves green so we thought it was only appropriate to let him wear a green jacket. I gave some guidance but Vanessa was amazing and helped us make our vision come to life and was excellent helping with decisions."
The WFML Experience
Sarah told us all about her WFML experience, telling us, "I had my eye on one of the WFML gowns online. I had been to one other shop prior and left a bit broken and worried I wouldn’t be able to find anything. We walked into WFML and Laura welcomed us and was so helpful. I didn’t realise how much WFML could customise their gowns and was blown away with what we came up with. It was everything I had pictured. I had 4 different dresses on and my mum and sister were looking at me amazed saying that’s the one. Vanessa and Laura were so helpful and I couldn’t be happier with my wedding dress experience.
The girls at WMFL were amazing they helped with what I was expecting to be a stressful experience, be smooth and stress free experience."
