WFML Real Bride: Sally

Posted by on

Sally's actual wedding ceremony ended up being a fun stress free event with only minimal planning time. Originally aiming for a late 2021 date in Northern NSW, extended lockdowns made it seemingly impossible to have the day of their dreams. But nothing could stand in the way of this couple's love and desire to become husband and wife. They turned their thoughts to elopement!

Their actual wedding was planned in 3 days. Sally brought flowers from the service station, got some sandwiches made and found a dress from her wardrobe (as her wedding dress is in QLD and borders were closed). They rented a beachfront house and had her husband’s mother attend the wedding. The happy couple felt they couldn't risk waiting to have the wedding as her mother-in-law was 95 and wasn’t well. (Happily, She is now 96 and is still going strong!) As this was not in QLD, Sally’s son, parents, sister and most of her close friends are not able to attend the wedding.

Fast forward a little, the border opened, Sally was able to retrieve her dress from across the state line, and celebrated their wedding 2.0 on the anniversary of their original wedding date. They were super lucky with their amazing and talented friends stepping in to offer their services as a gift. It includes hair and makeup, DJ’s, and Celebrant! It was extra special as the Brides dearest friend was their celebrant even though she had not finished her celebrancy licence at the time - all worked out though as they were already legally married!

Dress shopping for Sally was smooth and easy. Her friend recommended WFML and after looking at our site, she found the dress she liked and stuck to it. “It was comfortable and easy to dance in! ”

“Vanessa and everyone at WFML was amazing. With all of the changes and lockdowns and date changes, they made it as stress free as possible!”

Once again congratulations to Sally and Pete.
