Suzie and her husband were extremely lucky as the covid restrictions were all lifted hours before the wedding went ahead. Their coordinator emailed them the day of the wedding to say that no one had to wear masks and that everyone could also move around while eating and drinking. What a pleasant surprise to start their special day.
Unfortunately, due to the border restrictions, Suzie’s sister and her family in NSW were unable to attend. However, that was not going to stop her sister and her family from not getting involved. They put on their mock wedding for the day, got dressed up, and having a fancy dinner at home.
Despite the changes and difficulties, Suzie still described her day to be perfect!
Suzie always knew she wanted something a bit different and non-traditional. As she was searching for vintage-style gowns, gold sequin dresses kept popping up. She ended up searching for Australian-made gold sequined dresses, and thankfully When Freddie Met Lilly popped up. The only part of her vision that changed was to have full-length sleeves rather than half.
Suzie came into our WFML store and tried on our Rikki Gown and fell in love. She was in love to the point she knew it was the one and didn’t try any other dresses! That’s when you know you have got the right dress. Having our Rikki Gown on made her feel beautiful, glamorous, and comfortable. She said the dress made her felt very "me" because it fitted her personality perfectly.
For the Groom, he chose his suit on his own, opting for a navy-blue suit after Suzie had mentioned to him that her dress was gold. Opting for jewel tones to compliment, his suit matched her dress beautifully.
We asked Suzie about her experience with the girls at When Freddie Met Lilly and she responded “Vanessa was extremely accommodating, she always made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. She made sure to bring my vision to life, adjusting where needed, delivering perfection”.
Suzie ended with a final tip for future brides that are in the process of choosing their perfect gown. She said, “Don’t be afraid to choose that bold, statement dress. Choose your venue before searching for dresses as that can alter the style of dress you need/want/suitable”.
